PLANT INVENTORY SERVICES – USING TECHNOLOGY TO RESHAPE NATURE Desierto Verde provides site inventory services to give the developer or property owner an upfront look at the scope and cost of saving and working with native vegetation. Our expert crews use the latest technology to survey the site, tagging the plants and recording the species, trunk diameter and other pertinent data. Most importantly, a salvage assessment is made based on plant size and health, soil conditions and practical considerations such as accessibility and aesthetics.
Desierto Verde’s skill and experience in selecting the best specimens during the inventory stage assures that salvage costs are limited to viable plants that will increase the value of the project.
Topographic Site Surveys Desierto Verde is now offering topographic site survey services. “A Topographic Site Drawing is a CAD generated map of current site conditions and dimensions, derived from on site field gathered measurements.”
Desierto Verde’s GPS and Total Station surveying equipment is now being applied to create comprehensive site maps of information needed for development or inventory. The site survey could range from just a simple building on a lot, to curbs, overhead wires, storm structures, concrete drives, trees and shrubs, existing ground elevations, pools, existing landscape, or anything that exists on site that the client wants to see.
The Benefits of Surveying with GPS Global Positioning Satellites (GPS) and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) are used to produce a Geographic Information System (GIS) product. Assessment is evaluated real time in the field using digital field data collectors. Precision symbol labeling of map location, plant species and salvageablility can then be incorporated directly into the clients working CAD file. A plant material listing and report can then be generated from GPS field data thus completing a large portion of city submittals and permitting process requirements for plant inventories.
The Benefits of our Geographic Information System process GIS is a process of representing spatial features geographically referenced to a map projection in an earth coordinate system. At Desierto Verde we utilize this process in a unique way by using GPS equipment and CAD software. We acquire location of plants using GPS equipment and attach pertinent information (attributes) to the plant data point. The Desierto Verde advantage is that we can do this in CAD software so that the client can quickly and seamlessly incorporate this in their ongoing CAD project plans.
